Welcome to ADAPTFISH!

Using recreational fisheries as our focus, the interdisciplinary and international team on the ADAPTFISH project is studying adaptations of exploited populations (fisheries resources), their exploiters (anglers) and the rules governing the interactions between fish and anglers (institutions).

Thanks to the invaluable input of our cooperating partners, our ultimate goals are (i) to progress the sciences of recreational fisheries, (ii) to provide recommendations of immediate relevance for recreational fisheries management and (iii) to develop an international network of excellence in the field of fisheries science.


ADAPTFISH Collaborator Locations

ADAPTFISH is based at the Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) within Research Programme 4.3 “Principles for Sustainable Inland Fisheries Management”. It is run by Robert Arlinghaus and Christian Wolter from the Department of Biology and Ecology of Fishes.

Most of the principal investigators of ADAPTFISH are young, energetic Ph.D. students originating from countries all over the world.
